New Kingsville K-12 Naming Committee

The GECDSB is in the process of forming a committee to name the new Kingsville K-12 school that will open in September 2024.
The formation of the committee will follow the process outlined in our Naming and Renaming of Board Facilities Policy and Regulation.

September 2023: Student of the Month

The Student of the Month for September is Zoe Toews, a Grade 11 student at Kingsville District High School. Zoe is an outstanding role model for this month’s theme of “athleticism”.
Zoe is a gifted athlete who is extremely passionate about the sports she competes in.
Last year, Zoe participated in as many sports as she could. No matter which team she is on, Zoe’s positivity lifts the teams’ spirits. It is very fitting that Zoe is also the Minister of Spirit at KDHS.

New GECDSB Director of Education

Vicki Houston began her career in education supporting individual students on their pathways to success. Her focus became wider as a Vice-principal and then Principal at Walkerville Collegiate Institute. It expanded once again in her role as a Superintendent of Education for 8 years.
Beginning September 1, 2023 Mrs. Houston will assume responsibility for all 37,000 students and 5,000 staff as the GECDSB’s new Director of Education.
She succeeds Erin Kelly, who will retire this summer.
