Massey Muslim Student Association Raises Funds for Downtown Mission

Charity is one of the principles for Muslims during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. This year, at Vincent Massey Secondary School the Muslim Student Association got the entire school community involved in its efforts.

Greater Essex County District School Board Technology Enabled Learning and Teaching (TELT) team members David Gomes and Peter Phinney (pictured above with Superintendent Josh Canty, middle) have worked incredibly hard to ensure educators and students have had access to reliable remote learning and teaching platforms throughout the pandemic. At a virtual Award Ceremony on April 22, 2022, GECDSB teacher Steven Langlois was awarded the prestigious G. Robert McConnell Award from the Ontario Modern Languages Teacher Association (Est. 1886). The Student of the Month for March is Elise Holbrook, a Grade 11 student at Walkerville Collegiate Institute. Elise is an ideal student to represent this month’s theme of “creativity”.
Elise has so many talents and imaginative ideas that she has shared with the world. A student at the Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts, Elise studies drama, vocal, piano, and visual art.
