School history
William G. Davis Public School was built in 1967 and was named after the then Minister of Education, the Honourable William G. Davis. Mr. Davis who later became Premier of Ontario, attended the official opening of the school.
The original Davis School was a round one story building with the gym in the center, surrounded by self- contained classrooms. There was 180 students and a staff of 7. Two years later in 1970 with the completion of a new housing development and a major influx of students, a second floor was added to the existing structure. By 1984, the enrollment had increased from 180 to 500 students. Currently in 2022, the enrollment is 327.
