At Essex Public School, we offer a variety of extracurricular programs and activities for students.
Our Kindergarten Program
We are very proud of our Kindergarten Program at Essex PS. Our program is comprised of 4 classrooms. With the addition of a full time daycare (Storybook Learning Center) to our building, renovations were made to two of our kindergarten classes in 2020-2021. These enhancements include kitchen space and updated washrooms.
Our Kindergarten program provide students with an inquiry based learning experience with rich literacy and numeracy activities. An outdoor gated area provides a safe environment for our kindergarten students to play and learn in outside.

School wide programs
In addition to the outstanding academic programs that are offered at all grade levels here at EPS, we have many other programs for students to participate in.
Our library boasts a wide variety of learning materials for all ages. It continues to be monitored and updated to ensure the most up to date and relevant material is available to students. Students utilize our library space for a variety of purposes, taking advantage of our new furniture.
We offer school wide food days for parents who wish to purchase hot lunches on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. These are offered in partnership with local vendors with approved safety certificates and include Dominos Pizza, Harvest Fresh Catering and Green Heart Lunch Club.
Our Music program is unsurpassed with engaging activities for students of all ages. Our older students apply their knowledge of music to our instrumental music program and have historically participated in our school musical productions.
We have a huge, modern double sized gymnasium with a brand new sound system, stage and retractable bleachers for seating. Older students may choose to participate in a wide variety of school sports including soccer, cross country, volleyball, basketball, badminton, track and field and softball.
Anti-bullying
Our school staff and administration work hard to combat bullying. We encourage students to report bullying to an adult at school and at home. Our students recently competed in a poster competition to create a bullying motto. Our motto is,
"Don't be shy to help someone fly"
