What is Dual Credit?
The Dual Credit Program offers students of the Greater Essex County District School Board the opportunity to transition smoothly from secondary school to college and apprenticeship programs. St. Clair College has partnered with local school boards and the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities (MTCU) to provide high school students the opportunity to earn college credits towards their Level 1 Apprenticeship before they even graduate from high school (and it is FREE).
What courses do they offer?
There is a wide variety of fields to choose from. Courses may include:
- Baking and Pastry Arts
- Basic Welding Process & Fabricating
- Construction Applications
- Truck & Coach Engine Systems
- Electricity
- Engine Operations (Firefighting)
- Interior Design Illustration
- Nail Tech
- Robotics
- Foundations of Early Learning and Care
- Professional Development in Health Care
- Visual Design with Computers

How to register for Dual Credit
1. A message will be sent to grade 11 and 12 students in Edsby to indicate when Dual Credit is open. A link will be provided for you to register.
2. Make an appointment with your guidance counsellor by sending them a message in Edsby.
3. Your counsellor will sign you up for the Dual Credit course that interests you.
