 Access to professional learning and training
 

We are a learning organization rich with resources. We know that an investment in staff learning and training is an investment in the success of students and our organization. We provide a variety of in-person and online learning and professional development opportunities for staff members.

For educators, we offer:

  • regular professional learning opportunities on a wide range of topics including assessment practices, identity-affirming classrooms and subject-specific learning.
  • professional learning communities that enable educators to have professional conversations with colleagues and participate in shared learning.  

For all staff, we offer:

  • Accessibility to training opportunities through an on-line system called Brightspace.  We provide effective programs and opportunities both those provincially mandated instruction and self-guided professional development.
  • Employees can access online courses at any time on topics such as Truth and Reconciliation, anti-oppression, dismantling anti-Black racism and supporting mental health in the classroom.
  • Opportunities to attend Board conferences, courses and other opportunities throughout the year. 
  • Access to recorded keynote addresses from previous conferences.
  • Ongoing learning through staff and network meetings.
