November brings two wonderful opportunities for us to build a stronger sense of community.
First, on November 13th, it’s World Kindness Day. This day is all about celebrating the power of small acts of kindness. And here’s a little challenge for each of you: try to do one random act of kindness for someone. It could be a kind word, a helping hand, or even just making someone feel seen. These small actions really add up and help everyone feel like they belong.
The following week—from November 18th to the 22nd—is Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week. This is an important time across Ontario to think about the impact of bullying and to work on building safer, more respectful communities. At GECDSB, we’re committed to making sure every student and staff member feels safe, respected, and included. When we come together to support one another and stand up against bullying, we create positive, healthy relationships which makes GECDSB better for everyone.
So, as we move through November, let’s keep kindness and respect at the forefront. Practice kindness daily, stand up against bullying, and let’s make sure GECDSB remains a place where everyone feels they belong and can thrive.
Together, we’re continuing to make GECDSB a great place to be!
