The Student of the Month for June is Michael Middleton, a Grade 12 student at Essex District High School. Michael is an outstanding role model for this month’s theme of “leadership”.
Michael displays the qualities of a true leader at EDHS and the community. He is a very social and outgoing student who takes pride in making his school a better place.
Michael is in the S.T.E.P.S program where he eagerly takes on many essential jobs around the school. He leads his peers in running the breakfast club and school recycling program; he performs the set-up and take down for school events such as Coffee House; and he tidies up the school garden, preparing the courtyard for spring plantings. This year, he also served students in the school canteen during the GECDSB Special Olympics.
Within the community Michael delivers papers, picks up litter and supports the Essex Legion by volunteering for Burger Day.
Michael enjoys being given responsibility and takes pride in doing all his jobs well. He inspires other students to step up and serve the school community and truly makes Essex District High School a great place to learn.
Congratulations Michael for being selected by Student Senate as the Student of the Month for June for the theme of “leadership”.
