The Student of the Month for May is Kai Qin, a Grade 12 student at Vincent Massey Secondary School, an excellent role model for the theme of “volunteerism”.
Kai has completed over 500 community service hours for various causes such as Habitat for Humanity, Windsor Public Library, Art in the Park, Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network, Canadian Association for Girls in Science STEAM Camp, and the University of Windsor Pronoun Panel.
Kai is an enthusiastic supporter of school activities and events. Last year, they helped lead Massey’s Robotics team to the global competition in Houston, Texas, dedicating over 150 hours to the team. Kai is also an active volunteer for Massey’s annual Children’s Holiday Party, planning months in advance to arrange the children’s entertainment.
Kai has a tremendous sense of school spirit, participating in coffeehouses, math contests, literature club, the school band, GSA, Massey Hacks, Grade 8 Open House and Grade 9 Orientation, Parent Teacher Interview nights, ‘Stangs Teaching ‘Stangs , Massey Green, ‘Stangs for a Change and Relay for Life.
You would be hard pressed to find someone more trustworthy or hardworking within the halls of Massey halls. They inspire others to join in on a cause or activities, causing a positive impact throughout the school community. Despite their busy volunteer schedule, Kai is on Massey’s Honour Roll with Distinction and is working towards the Information, Communications & Technology SHSM.
Congratulations Kai on being selected by Student Senate as the May Student of the Month for the theme of “volunteerism”.
