Guest Meeting Invite Instructions

If you have received an invite to join the Greater Essex County District School Board's (GECDSB) Microsoft Teams account as a guest, learn how you can register with these simple steps.

Register as a guest

To register as guest with the GECDSB's Microsoft Teams account, you must:

  1. Open your email invitation with the subject line “Microsoft Invitations on behalf of Greater Essex County District School Board”
  2. Click "Accept Invitation"

From here, you will either be prompted to create a new account or to log in with your email and password. This will depend on if your email account is already associated with a Microsoft account or not.

Forgot your password?

If you are in the login window for Microsoft Teams and you have forgot your password, you must:

  1. Click on “Forgot Password”
  2. Click on your preferred contact (email or text) to verify your identity
  3. Click “Get code”
  4. Once a unique code is sent to your preferred contact method, copy the code into the next field to verify your identity
  5. Click “Next”
  6. Enter a new password
  7. Click “Next” to confirm
  8. Once you receive a message that your password was changed, click “Sign in”

An optional step will appear for you to use the smartphone app to sign in without a password where you can click. You can click “Get it now” to set up this feature if you wish.

To continue:

  1. Click “No thanks”
  2. Click “Accept” once you have reviewed the permissions and terms

Once you have accepted, you will be redirected to Microsoft Teams. You will now have access as a guest with the GECDSB's Teams account.
