The following is a list of the community organizations that the Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB) partners with to support students.
If you are looking for additional supports for your child, speak to your child's principal. They can work with the school's Special Education Coordinator to determine how to best meet your child's needs. This may include accessing the services of some of the community agencies listed below.
Children First
Children First in Essex County partners with families and the community to provide individualized support for children (birth to 6 years) with developmental or mental health challenges, helping them reach their full potential through early identification, education, and clinical intervention.
Talk 2 Me
Talk 2 Me provides resources and programs for children with speech and language concerns from birth until school entry.
HDGH Regional Children's Centre (RCC)
The Regional Children's Centre (RCC) is an accredited children's mental health centre serving children and adolescents (ages 6-17) who are dealing with social, emotional, developmental, or behavioural issues, and their families. The Centre offers a variety of crisis stabilization, diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and consultative services designed to promote healthy functioning of children, youth, and their families within the home, school, and community. The Centre offers on-site out-patient and residential services and community based programs.
Maryvale
Maryvale is a Children's Mental Health treatment centre where adolescents experiencing emotional, psychological and mental distress can receive therapy and assistance from a team of experts. They may be dealing with learning disabilities.
Some students attend Maryvale during the day for school while others attend for after school programs. Others attend for counselling only.
John McGivney Children's Centre
Centre-based services at John McGivney Children's Centre includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language services for children and youth who experience difficulty with everyday physical activities and those with developmental disabilities, orthopedic impairments, and complex chronic illnesses.
The Summit Centre
The The Summit Centre provides intensive early intervention services to preschool children with autism, utilizing Applied Behaviour Analysis. Children with autism learn differently from other children, so they learn best when taught differently. ABA has the strongest research support in producing lasting improvements in learning for young children with autism.
TVCC – Foundational Family Services
TVCC – Foundational Family Services (FFS) are free services for parents and caregivers of children/youth registered in the Ontario Autism Program (OAP).
Autism supports such as resources, presentations and time with experienced consultants can teach caregivers how to interact with their child/youth with autism, empower caregivers to teach their children new skills and actively participate in their ongoing learning and development.
Community Living Windsor
Community Living Windsor supports new possibilities for people who have an intellectual disability, leading to a better life, empowerment and new opportunities for building an inclusive community in Windsor. We believe that we are all equal citizens of a community where we all belong.
Community Living Essex
Community Living Essex is committed to supporting people with an intellectual disability as they work to achieve their goals and dreams and to realize their value as full citizens in their community. Since 1961 Community Living Essex County, a non-profit, registered charitable organization has been committed to assisting people of all ages who have an intellectual disability and their families throughout Essex County.
Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO)
The Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO) is a registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth and adults with learning disabilities. LDAO offers many resources, services, information, venues and products designed to help people with LDs and ADHD, as well as parents, teachers, and other professionals.
Learning Disabilities at School
The Learning Disabilities at School program gives students with learning disabilities and their families the resources and support they need to excel at school.
Learning Disabilities at Home
The Learning Disabilities at Home program gives students with learning disabilities and their families the resources and support they need to work on homework and educational tasks at home.
Learning Disabilities Association of Windsor-Essex (LDAWE)
The Learning Disabilities Association of Windsor-Essex assists children, youth, and adults with learning disabilities, and those who support them, through information sharing, support, and relevant programs.
Autism Services Inc. Windsor & Essex County (ASI)
Autism Services Inc. Windsor & Essex County provides individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) specialized programs to enable them to reach their potential while providing family support, and to share information and resources with the Windsor Essex Community.
Autism Ontario
Autism Ontario is the province's leading source of information and referral on autism and one of the largest collective voices representing the autism community.
Windsor-Essex Family Network
The Windsor-Essex Family Network is a network of people who have a relative or friend living with a disability. The Windsor- Essex Family Network provides family-to-family linking, mentoring and support, information to families, workshops and learning opportunities, committees, boards and working groups as volunteers giving back, partnerships in the community committed to strengthening and supporting families who have family members with disabilities.
Teen Health Centre
As a community health centre, Teen Health Centre continuously aims to support the community of Windsor and Essex County by offering equitable, safe, quality care that is client centered and close to home. We operate six locations throughout Windsor and Essex County which include: Diabetes Wellness, Leamington, Pickwick, Street Health, Sandwich and Teen Health. In addition to these locations, we offer many services at community partner's locations across Windsor and Essex County. The Erie St. Clair LHIN largely funds our programs and services allowing us to offer them to our clients at no charge.

Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario is a registered not-for-profit, charitable agency dedicated to enhancing the lives of people who are affected by epilepsy through support services, education, advocacy, and community awareness.
